Mole (15)

Hat la nshoof fain el jehaz “Bgalb Gawi”!!! I had that courage to say on my first radiotherapy session... BUT I DIDN’T, Because the exact day before starting my session, I was that lucky to get all the cold in Amman to be stored in my stomach, till I started to experience therapy symptoms without even starting it (fever, vomiting, flue….most important I couldn’t take my pills for 24hrs), though I made sure every time I had to go out to be a polar bear… but it didn’t work, so I knew what I’m going to face :)…

Radiotherapy is – approximately- decuple shots of the casual X-ray we know, your radiotherapist focus it on the area “el mashtoobeh” by measuring rad amount by number of sessions, in order to burn “el sale7, wel 6ale7” from the cells. As for “Tsunami” and radio they are not on a good relationship; “Tsunami” is an equipped type and has its own fire protector which resists radio rads, however I’m on this therapy to kill the baby ones that we do not know about yet, AKA “microscopic cells”, and will deal with the “Bara3em” later on Insha’Allah.

First session, was fun … my mask was ready – Oh, the mask I have a special made one that EXACTLY fits my face and head, they put it for me in every session to settle my head fearing from any movements during the 2 minutes burn… yes it’s a 2 minutes thing (bs btegleb 7iatak ba3dha) -, the session was fun because it’s my very first time experience with this machine and I didn’t expect how silly it is, exactly like this” ZZZZzzzzzz, Tek Tek Tek fshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh” for two times – in my case - and that’s it.

YOU Won’t FEEL anything- except your heart beats-, actually I'm supposed not to experience any symptoms after the session; but since I skipped my pills the day before :( and the therapy motivates bara3em to play around, I had a collapse and still having ones along with other things that are bearable – Hamdellah -.

Today was my 5th session – Thank Allah KHCC is off for the next 3 days -, I think I need to get a life or energy at least, to finish the remaining 10 sessions – 3a khair – that are going to be paired with Chemo:) “Chemo should take a mole don’t you think?”.

In every entertaining session, I ask one of my family members to join on order – except for Um Omar & Abu Omar -; Well, first I need a ride & second to relief them because once they see the procedure they become more relaxed – mind you there are some patients who come alone, and leave alone :) -. Today my Big brother joined I told him: don’t worry ! there are Cameras in the monitoring area you can watch me from there and I’ll be out in 2 minutes.

Once I’m done I thanked my radiotherapist, looked at my Bro and said: See Omar it’s no biggy and its fun mo?!!,

He said: Ola! the Machine is awesome… unbelievable how this technology works!!!

Me: "Bellah 3aleek" Ok,technology boy ... I think you are over relaxed now :)... let's go home.
